About this initiative

Since 2015, devotees have contributed toward the Shirdi in America initiative, run by Sai Datta Mandir, Inc. (1665 Oak Tree Road, Suite 370, Edison, NJ 08820), which was presented as a two-phase project: acquisition of land through Sthala Seva, followed by construction of a permanent temple through Nirmana Seva.Land was acquired at 583 South Middlebush Road, Somerset, New Jersey, on June 25, 2015. A Bhoomi Puja for the proposed temple was conducted on October 18, 2018. More than eleven years after the land acquisition, and nearly eight years after the Bhoomi Puja, donors have questions about the project’s present status, the contributions received, and the plans for completing the permanent temple. The collective letter is addressed to the leadership of Sai Datta Mandir, Inc. It requests an accounting of the contributions received under the land-acquisition and construction programs, clarification of how those funds have been used, information about the present status of the property, and an update on the organization’s development plans and timeline.

The letter does not allege wrongdoing. Its purpose is to obtain information about the project and encourage constructive progress toward its original vision.

If you contributed to Shirdi in America, including through Sthala Seva, Nirmana Seva, or other general contributions, please read the complete letter below. If you agree with its contents, you may add your name using the signature form.

We will update this page when the letter is submitted and when a response is received. Any response shared publicly will be reviewed to avoid disclosing personal or confidential information.
