Shirdi in America DonorsDonor Accounting Request
Independent donor initiative — not affiliated with or operated by Sai Datta Mandir, Inc. or Sai Datta Peetham.
A collective letter from donors, asking Sai Datta Mandir, Inc. for a clear accounting of funds raised for the Shirdi in America project.
Since 2015, devotees have contributed toward the Shirdi in America initiative, run by Sai Datta Mandir, Inc. (1665 Oak Tree Road, Suite 370, Edison, NJ 08820), which was presented as a two-phase project: acquisition of land through Sthala Seva, followed by construction of a permanent temple through Nirmana Seva.
Land was acquired at 583 South Middlebush Road, Somerset, New Jersey, on June 25, 2015. A Bhoomi Puja for the proposed temple was conducted on October 18, 2018.
More than eleven years after the land acquisition, and nearly eight years after the Bhoomi Puja, donors have questions about the project’s present status, the contributions received, and the plans for completing the permanent temple.
The collective letter asks the organization’s leadership for an accounting of funds raised, information about their utilization, the present status of the property and project, and the plans and timeline for completing the permanent temple. It does not allege wrongdoing.
